Privacy Policy for GoLocal

1. Introduction
Welcome to GoLocal. This Privacy Policy explains how INTERGRITY-IT TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our GoLocal mobile application (the "Service").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.
A. Personal Information You Provide to Us
We collect information you provide directly when you create an account:
- Phone Number: We require your phone number to create your account and verify your identity using a One-Time Password (OTP).
- Name: We collect your name to identify you, whether you are a Customer or a Store Owner.
- User Role: We store whether you are a "CUSTOMER" or a "STORE_OWNER" to provide the correct app experience.
B. Information for Store Owners
If you register as a Store Owner, we also collect:
- Store Name: The name of your business.
- Store Type: The category of your store (e.g., Departmental/Grocery, Vegetables & Fruits, Restaurant).
- GST Number: (Optional) Your Goods and Services Tax number.
C. Location Data
We collect precise GPS location data (latitude and longitude) to enable the app's core functionality:
- For Customers: We collect your location when you place an order so we can share it with the Store Owner for delivery.
- For Store Owners: We collect your store's location during signup (and when you update it) to display your store to nearby customers.
D. Image Data (Store Owners Only)
- Store Owners may upload images, such as a store profile photo or pictures of inventory items.
- Customers cannot upload any images.
E. Device and Notification Data
- Device Token: We collect your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to send you push notifications about your orders.
- Platform: We identify your device's platform (iOS or Android) to ensure notifications are sent correctly.
F. Order and Rating Data
- Order Details: We collect information about the items you order, their prices, and the order status (e.g., "pending," "accepted," "delivered").
- Ratings: We collect the 1-5 star rating you provide for an order to calculate the store's average rating.
G. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, request, or store any of the following:
- Email Addresses
- Payment Information, Credit Card Details, or Bank Account Information
- Social Media Account Details
- Government IDs (except for the optional GST number for Store Owners)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To create, manage, and secure your account.
- To enable you to log in via phone and OTP.
- To display nearby stores to Customers (within a 5km radius).
- To allow Store Owners to display their inventory and store details.
- To facilitate the core function of the app: processing orders and coordinating delivery.
- To send you push notifications about the status of your orders.
- To calculate and display store ratings.
4. How We Share Your Information
Our Service is a marketplace, which requires the sharing of information between Customers and Store Owners to fulfill orders.
- What We Share with Store Owners: When a Customer places an order, we share the Customer's name, phone number, and delivery location with the Store Owner for the sole purpose of fulfilling that order.
- Data Access After Completion: Once an order is marked as "Delivered" or "Completed," the Store Owner will no longer have access to the Customer's personal phone number or specific delivery location through the app for that completed order.
- What We Share with Customers: A Store Owner's store name, store address, store phone number, store location, and store photo are visible to Customers to allow them to discover and order from the store.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any other third parties.
5. Payment Information (Cash on Delivery)
GoLocal does not have an online payment system. We do not collect, process, or store any credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment information.
All payments are handled directly between the Customer and the Store Owner via Cash on Delivery (COD).
6. Third-Party Services
We use Google Firebase for essential app functions:
- Firebase Authentication: To manage and verify your phone number using OTP.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): To send push notifications to your device.
These services may collect data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
7. Data Security and Storage
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information.
Uploaded images are stored on our servers in an /uploads directory and are accessible via their URL to be displayed in the app.
While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.
8. Data Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Upon receiving your deletion request, we will take reasonable steps to remove your personal information from our active systems and database.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
